Last year I was lucky enough to make it to Washington D.C. at the height of the Cherry Blossom season – it was a remarkably warm winter and the flowers had come out early. The weekend was a bit overcast and breezy, which wasn’t particularly great for the millions who had come to the city for the event, but it was fantastic for taking pictures. The petals gently showered the monuments with pink and the light was perfect for catching the varying shades. I’ve posted a couple pics here (you can see more on my flickr feed). It was one of those bucket listy experiences and I really enjoyed it.
I’m hoping to head back down this Spring, but it won’t be for many weeks yet (it runs March 20 through April 14 this year) ~ in the meantime, Valentine’s Day is right around the corner and pink is on my mind. If been scanning around and came up with this lovely collection that I just adore (not too syrupy, not too pale – just enough glam to remind you of Marie Antoinette): Stella McCartney and Alexander McQueen from Net-a-Porter; Valentino from Saks Fifth Avenue; Lanvin, Charlotte Olympia, John Hardy, and David Yurman from Neiman Marcus; Paley Cuff and Danielle Earrings from Kendra Scott.
